Description
There are two primary goals for this project:
(1) Using the Sikome Aquatic Redevelopment Plan as a guiding document, consult with Alberta Parks (Kananaskis Region and Capital team members) to develop a Final Conceptual Report to confirm program offerings and inform detail design. This Report will be circulated internally to Alberta Parks as a Decision Document for approval by Capital and Regional Managers / Directors.
(2) Following approval of the Decision Document, develop multiple tender packages (assume three) and manage phased construction implementation for Refurbishment of the Sikome Aquatic Facility.
Project Objectives
.1 Design and implementation of the Sikome Aquatic Facility refurbishments shall:
• Support future program offerings
• Respond to current and future recreation trends
• Offer more for the visitor experience
• Improve ease of operation / achieve maintenance efficiencies
• Expand “back of house requirements” to achieve daily operational requirements (expanded storage areas, administrative space, designated staff areas, IT requirements, etc.)
• Improve the flow of traffic, facilitate public transit and thoughtfully connect to the future Central Corridor Pathway immediately north of the facility
• Achieve a sense of arrival at each gateway (north and south)
• Comply with accessibility guidelines were feasible
• Consider inclusivity in design, where feasible
• Modernize buildings to support future use
• Upgrade infrastructure to improve building and site function
• Support emergency protocol and egress
• Consider public safety (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design)
• Be ecologically sensitive
• Achieve a vision to supports future generations (the lifecycle of new infrastructure and site improvements shall be long-term)
The consultant team will be responsible for ensuring that all documents and all activities conform to Alberta Park’s Standards and industry best practices with respect to survey, ecology, site development, engineering, design, construction and commissioning.
Durée du contrat
La durée estimée du contrat sera de 37 mois, avec une date de début proposée du 2023/11/10.
