Cedar, housed at Simon Fraser University (SFU), is the largest general-purpose computing system in support of Advanced Research Computing (ARC) in Canada and runs a diverse set of code in support of advanced materials science, drug discovery, and climate science, as well as AI, machine learning, and the digital humanities and others.
This RFP is to for extending the warranty of the IBM TS4500 tape library and required component replacements. The proposed infrastructure will be required to be maintained and available throughout its useful lifespan by SFU’s Research Computing Group (RCG) in consultation with other national host sites and the Digital Research Alliance of Canada Federation teams for the period of 2025-2030
