West Bay Connector Trail - Preliminary Project Design

The City of Salmon Arm (City) is requesting proposals from qualified and experienced firms or
individuals to prepare a detailed project design scope document to provide direction to City
Council, staff, Adams Lake and Neskonlith communities, and stakeholders on the future
construction of the West Bay Connector Trail.

The scoping document will be the first step toward providing bid-ready engineering designs
and costing for the West Bay Trail corridor. Preparation of the document will require
consultations with all parties involved, and its finalization will document consensus on all
elements achieved during the process. The process will table different options available for the
trail alignment, ultimately solidifying the optimal corridor alignment and provide design
guiding principles for the trail cross section and enhancement elements. Finally, the document
will outline and resolve shortfalls in any required design and construction elements (ie: cultural,
structural, environmental), and provide a roadmap to moving forward to a public tender for
construction.
