Description
The City of Prince Rupert is seeking proposals from qualified proponents in response to this request for proposals for the provision of Services (as defined herein) to be carried out within the required schedule set out herein for the 14th Street Retaining Wall and Utility Replacement. The retaining wall along 14th Street and Atlin Avenue has begun to fail and is in need of replacement. Along with the retaining wall, there is a 375mm Sanitary Sewer and 150mm watermain that will need to be replaced and rerouted as they interfere with the current wall and the constructability of a new on. They City is looking at qualified contractors to come up with a solution to this problem and replace the aging retaining wall and utilities.

- Safely Remove approximately 40m of existing rock stacked retaining wall (wall varies in height)
- Remove and reroute approximate 40m of 375-450mm sanitary main
- Remove and replace 35m of 150mm watermain. Install new valve in intersection of 14th and Atlin Avenue
- Remove and replace existing 25m of Storm main along Atlin Avenue
- Provide materials, labor and equipment to reinstitute a suitable retaining wall, with proper bedding/backfill material, slope and geogrid.
- Provide materials, labor and equipment to place and pour new concrete curb and gutter
- Provide materials, labor to erect new fence along 14th Street and Atlin Avenue
- All services, coordination and access to property at 1643 Atlin Avenue must be maintained
- Contractor is responsible for any and all traffic control
- Contractor to fill and compact aggregate to allow drivability of road once complete (to MMCD standrads)
- Contractor is NOT responsible to pave road or sidewalk
- All pipe material to be provided by City
- If contractor chooses to construct a lockblock retaining wall, City will provide. Pickup and delivery will be up to selected contractor
- Any and all engineering, if required, will be up to contractor. Solely dependent on methodology and material usage/placement.
