RFP #2022-07 - Fraser River Bank Armouring (McDonald Road): Engineering Services

The District of Kent (District) is seeking qualified engineering services for the design and construction oversight of bank armouring measures on the Fraser River.  An approximately 350 metre section on the north/west bank of the Fraser, upstream of McDonald Road in Agassiz, shows signs of erosion, and has been losing up to 3 metres of material annually.  The District’s registered dike that protects the townsite is less than 30 metres from this bank, making both the dike and the Agassiz townsite vulnerable to continued erosion.  A preliminary investigation report, followed by recommendations and conceptual design, was prepared by Northwest Hydraulic Consultants in 2021 and is the basis for the initialization of this project.  Proponents are expected to review the conceptual design recommendations in that report and provide a detailed design on that basis.
