Description
The Ministry of Forests (MOF) invites proposals from qualified proponents to provide Professional and Technical Silviculture Services for Silviculture Investments within Southern British Columbia. Southern British Columbia includes Thompson Okanagan, Cariboo, and Kootenay Boundary Natural Resource Regions.
The objective of this contract is to provide the described services on an “as, if, and when required” basis to support forest recovery and rehabilitation for various government funded programs in the upcoming fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2024.
Option to RenewThe Contract contains an 'option to renew' clause whereby the Ministry reserves the right to but is under no obligation to renew the Contract for a further term of up to 12 months, to a maximum of 2 years, subject to funding and satisfactory performance of the Contractor. As renewal is not assured, Proponents are cautioned to prepare their price based on a single term contract only. Should the option-to-renew be exercised, the bid rate or bid price is expected to remain unchanged in the subsequent term unless, in the ministry's sole opinion, a negotiated rate change is warranted. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any renewal of the Contract shall be at the Province's sole discretion.

The scope of work to be done can include but will not be limited to:
- Develop and implement strategies to identify areas eligible for reforestation and timber supply mitigation treatments. The proponent will play a key role in assisting the Ministry of Forests (MOF) staff in identifying Not Satisfactorily Restocked (NSR) ground which may be eligible for planting under the Forest Investment Program (FIP) in the South Area.
- Identification, planning, and implementation of Forest Investment Program eligible projects.
- Silviculture surveys and RESULTS support services for Forest Stand Management (FSM) funded projects
- On an "as, if and when required basis" carry out silviculture surveys, including but not limited to surveys of areas denuded by either fire or insects. Develop, sign and seal prescriptions and treatment plans. Prepare and submit sowing requests.
- Provide expert RESULTS support services, including the `clean up' of District RESULTS data entries.
