Supplier Registration
Interested suppliers should note that BC Bid has upgraded its platform and that registration (or re-registration) in the new platform is necessary in order to respond to any opportunity after May 30, 2022. Suppliers are encouraged to register on the new BC Bid platform, in accordance with BC Bid process requirements, well in advance of the Closing Time for the opportunity to which they may want to respond. *** Opportunity Details ***
BC Hydro is seeking Proposals for: Remote Sensing Services (“RSS”) for vegetation management that will facilitate data capture and analysis of vegetation in proximity to the power system. The aim is to assist work planning and prioritization based on risk analysis to enable a proactive approach to vegetation management. BC Hydro’s expectation is that this informed approach to planning will enhance asset management, increase safety, and reduce associated risks. BC Hydro is seeking rapid-turnaround insights primarily derived from hyperspectral and/or stereo satellite imagery, with the option to be supplemented by LiDAR or other remote sensing technologies.
BC Hydro intends to procure Pilot Studies for Remote Sensing Services (RSS) for Vegetation Management. The purpose of the Pilot Studies and subsequent collaborative dialogue sessions are to better inform BC Hydro on the optimal requirements for a to be defined scope, frequency, and coverage area of RSS requirements BC Hydro may procure to support Vegetation Management planning on its >18,000 kilometres of transmission lines and >55,000 kilometres of distribution lines on an ongoing basis.
Delivery or completion date is October 30, 2023.
This procurement may involve negotiation.
This opportunity is subject to Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement.
