To eliminate the risk of bidder disqualification based on failure to re-submit in response to an Amendment, as required by the new BC Bid rules, BC Hydro has changed its practice as of November 24, 2022, such that all changes to BC Hydro (including Q&As and Addenda) are now treated as “Addenda” (and not “Amendments”) within the BC Bid rules and, as such, no longer require re-submission by the bidder of any already made submission. Please see Addenda instructions for further information.
The above practice change means that changes (including Q&As and Addendas) to BC Hydro opportunities will no longer be posted in the RFx Documents section of this Overview tab.

Supplier Registration
Interested suppliers should note that BC Bid has upgraded its platform and that registration (or re-registration) in the new platform is necessary in order to respond to any opportunity after May 30, 2022. Suppliers are encouraged to register on the new BC Bid platform, in accordance with BC Bid process requirements, well in advance of the Closing Time for the opportunity to which they may want to respond. Supplier registration can take a number of days to complete. Step-by-step guides are available to help users register and create their accounts. Failure to comply with BC Bid requirements is at the supplier’s own risk and BC Hydro does not assume any responsibility for the consequences of such non-compliance, including the supplier’s inability to submit a response to this or any other BC Hydro opportunity.
*** Opportunity Details ***
This RFP is for a contract that generally includes the supply of a new tugboat for use at Duncan Dam (DDM) to replace the existing BB6 tugboat. The BB6 Tugboat at DDM is at the end of life and has regulatory non-conformances due to its age and conditions. The BB6 tugboat is critical to dam operations for debris removal and placement/removal of debris booms. Debris removal is required to ensure safe operations of discharge facilities as well as keeping the reservoir and beaches free of debris for recreational users. The BB6 is a 16-foot tugboat. Please note proposals must include the safe transportation of the Tugboat to site.
Delivery or completion date is June 2025.
This procurement may involve negotiation.
This opportunity is subject to Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement.
