ITT FOR INSTALLATION OF BACK-UP COOLING SYSTEMS Issued by : National Gallery of Canada Location of Requirement: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Special Note: Mandatory (M) Bidder’s Conference (Site Visit) Interested Bidders must (M) attend a Bidder’s Conference and Site Visit to be held at the National Gallery of Canada (NGC) building, located at 380 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario. Date: May 22, 2013, at 10.00am Project Objectives: This Invitation to Tender (ITT) is directed to Contractors having a minimum of five (5) years of experienced in the installation of chillers, including retrofitting or modernization of chilled water systems such as used in large public/commercial building. The overall purpose of the project would be to provide independent back-up cooling for the NGC Special Exhibition, and for the Prints, Drawings and Photo (PDP) galleries. The new back-up cooling system(s) would be able to operate independently of the Cliff Street main cooling plant and would guarantee to NGC the ability to fully control and maintain exact temperatures and relative humidity in the space served by the new chillers. The selected contractor will have to work closely with NGC, the engineers and consultants to perform the specified work. The Contractor is to provide all materials and equipment required, of the quality described, as well as needed labour and tools. NGC has pre-selected and pre ordered the chillers to be used for this project. The selected Contractor is expected to take over the order with the chiller supplier immediately following the signing of the Contract in order to ensure timely delivery of the chillers. It is very important that the successful Contractor understands that a very high degree of quality workmanship will be expected from him/her. Project Timeline: The work will be expected to commence immediately following the signature of the Contract, expected to be before the end of June 2013, and will terminate on or before October 31, 2013.
