Nature of Work: Fisheries and Oceans Canada requires work under this Contract includes but is not limited to the provision of all labour, materials, and equipment required to: a. Fabricate a new 12.0m steel aid to navigation (AtoN) tower using fabrication drawings provided; b. Transport the tower to the project site; c. Demolish and dispose of the existing steel towers and foundations; d. Salvage and keep safe existing aid to navigation equipment (lantern and appurtenances (solar panels, batteries, cabinets), navigational daymark). e. Construct new tower foundation as per the attached drawings; f. Erect the new AtoN tower; g. Mount and install a daymark; h. Restore all disturbed areas. The following work will be undertaken by others and is hereby excluded: i. Fabrication of navigational daymarks and mounting assemblies. These will be supplied by the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG). Bidders are instructed to consult the tender package for further details and specific requirements. Tender documents must be downloaded from www.buyandsell.gc.ca. Those who submit a bid agree to be bound by the instructions, clauses and conditions of the solicitation and accept the clauses and conditions of any resulting contract. Site Location: LL 866 Front Range Lat./Long.: 44°45'44.79"N 79°50'2.20"W The closest settlement is Port McNicoll, ON (vicinity of Midland, ON). Non-Mandatory Site Visit: is to be held at the Contractors discretion. It is not a requirement for all persons wishing to tender on this project to visit the site but it is suggested to do so to familiarize themselves fully with the scope of work and the tendering requirements. Start Date: Contract award. Completion Date: Work shall be completed no later than March 20, 2015, unless otherwise negotiated and approved in writing by a Contracting Officer. Signed Tenders will be received up to 2:00 p.m. Atlantic Time: Thursday, January 15, 2015, for the said service in accordance with the documents enclosed. Any Tenders received after the above noted time will be considered late and will be not be considered. Tenders may be revised by email provided the tender and revision(s) are both received prior to Tender Closing Time. The onus is on the bidder to ensure that the bid is delivered on time to the location designated.
