a contractor to prepare a report that will identify and analyze: 1) energy efficient technologies currently being used in food manufacturing with respect to vegetable processing; and 2) the technologies available to improve the energy performance and competitiveness of vegetable processing and to reduce food manufacturing company’s production costs and environmental footprint. An understanding of the energy efficient technologies for vegetable processing in the food manufacturing sector will allow the federal government to identify measures and develop strategies to support investment in and uptake of energy efficient technologies.
