Excavation of Contaminated Soil: Contractor is responsible for environmental site remediation of parts of the western side of Victoria Island and a portion of the north side of Amelia Island. Work includes the excavation of all overburden material to the top of intact bedrock surface within the remediation limits, for transportation and disposal at an MECP approved disposal facility, with some exception where overburden material will remain in place.
Demolition and Removal of the Hydro Duct Structure: An overhead hydro duct bank structure currently spans the Timberslide ravine and continues underground on Victoria and Amelia Islands. Utilities within this structure will be deenergized / decommissioned prior to the start of remedial work. The Contactor is responsible for the safe demolition and removal of this structure as part of the work.
Terrestrial & Aquatic Site Reinstatement: Following remediation, the Contractor will be responsible for site reinstatement with clean backfill material to design grades including the installation of aquatic habitat features within the Timberslide Ravine.
Fencing : To control access and facilitate the work, the Contractor will be responsible for removal and replacement of main access fence and gate. Installation of new fencing at select locations on the site will also be required.
