Description
Woodlands County owns and operates the CYZU airport located 6.5 km west of Whitecourt AB. The airport consists of runways 11 & 29 which are 5,797 ft in length and 100 ft wide. It is the Counties desire to ensure the protection and safety of operations at the Woodlands CYZU Airport and to prevent the aerodrome from becoming unusable from growth both inside and outside the “Airport Lands”. The County wishes to adopt an Airport Vicinity Protection Area Plan that pursuant to Section 693 of the Municipal Government Act would allow the municipality to eventually make application to the Lieutenant Governor for the use, control, and regulation of development at the CYZU Airport.
