Description
The Alberta Geological Survey (AGS), a branch of the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), is conducting work on critical elements and minerals. Part of this work includes geochemical analyses of new and archived samples from coal beds and associated geological units. The sample materials could also include coal mine waste and coal combustion byproducts, depending on availability. All work will be dependent on budgets that have yet to be defined, and therefore project timelines and sample volumes are subject to change. The planned quantity of samples for the initial batch could range from 104 to 174. Subsequent batches will be as required. The AER may find it necessary to select more than one Respondent to perform the work contemplated in this RFP. The work requested for this RFP includes: 1. Sample preparation (i.e., crushing and pulverizing, ashing) 2. Analysing samples of coal, related strata, coal mine waste, and/or coal combustion byproducts with standardized analytical packages
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 24 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/05/24.
