City of Lethbridge - Negotiated Request for Proposal - 2025-2025 Installation of Permanent Pavement Markings

Pavement markings are a very important part of the communication system for road users. They are used on paved roadways for vehicle positioning and to provide guidance and information to drivers and pedestrians. Pavement markings help motorists correctly position their vehicle, provide guidance through the many different situations within the roadway, indicate where passing is allowed, and warn motorists of upcoming conditions. Pavement markings communicate their messages through a uniform system of colors, patterns, widths, and symbols. Due to higher traffic volumes on collector and arterial roadways, the City of Lethbridge requires permanent pavement markings to be installed on all collector and arterial roadways that were recently paved as part of the City’s annual rehabilitation program. The permanent pavement markings last significantly longer than standard paint markings. In addition, collector roadways within new developments require permanent pavement markings, which are included as part of this project. Scope & Deliverables • Attend Project Initialization Meeting to discuss project deliverables, scope, changes to any drawings and schedule. • Provide all the necessary supervision, materials, equipment and labor to complete the 2024 and 2025 - Installation of Permanent Pavement Markings Work in a timely manner at the specified locations shown on the attached drawings and quantities spreadsheet (within City of Lethbridge). • Provide Traffic Accommodation Plans for all locations identified on attached drawings and obtain approvals from the City of Lethbridge prior to the commencement of work. • Provide daily progress reports to the City PM and be available to meet the City PM and/or other City staff as necessary to review the progress of Work. • Provide Worksite and Worker safety during the entire period of Contract. Contract Term This contract is for a two-year fixed term with an option in favour of the City to extend for one (1) additional year. The scope and quantities for 2025 are currently unknown and will be determined at the end of the 2024 painting season, but are estimated to be similar to 2024 quantities. Bidders should note that the quantities for 2024 and 2025 may change and the bidders should consider this in their proposal.
