PROJECT BACKGROUND: The group shelter at the Indian Graves Campground, Indian Graves PRA is over 50 years old and has reached the end of its life cycle. The shelter’s interior and exterior have deteriorated beyond repair and the structure is in need of demolition and replacement.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this RFQ is to invite vendors who demonstrate the necessary qualifications and experience relative to the scope and nature of this project to provide Quotes for the work indicated.
SCOPE OF WORK: To replace the existing Group Shelter with a new structure of similar layout and dimensions. Contractor to confirm all measurements on site.
1. Provide shop drawings of proposed structure including all dimensions and materials for AFP Approval.
2. Mobilization of materials and equipment.
3. Demolition and removal of existing structure and vegetation from site. All materials to be disposed of to an appropriate landfill site outside the Park.
4. Power wash and patch existing concrete slab.
5. Construct new SPF #2 or better 16x32’ timber frame and affix to concrete slab. Dimensions to match existing Group Shelter. All posts in contact with concrete slab to be pressure treated.
6. Install two entryways. Openings to match the existing orientation on site.
7. Install new Cobblestone Hardie Plank cladding and trim as per Appendix B.1 – Siding Specification and Appendix B.3 Mountain + Forest Colour Specification. Mount cladding to 10mm plywood backing and vapour barrier.
8. Install interior plywood cladding and paint as per Appendix B.3 Mountain + Forest Colour Specification.
9. Install new standing-seam metal roof as per Appendix B.2 KC Standing Seam Metal Roof Specification and Appendix B.3 Mountain + Forest Colour Specification, including treated plywood sheathing and waterproof membrane.
10. Retain existing fireplace and install new chimney and spark arrestor.
11. Closeout Documentation – provide As-Built shop drawings and site photographs of Group
shelter.
Contractor is the adhere to all applicable manufacturer’s installation instructions, industry best practices, and local building codes.

The estimated contract period will be 3 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/09/03.
