Description
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase two (2) pairs of superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors that include a cryogenic cooling system from Photon Spot, Inc. The equipment is required for a research project that involves implementing nodes in quantum networking project that require superconducting photon detectors. This system will complement existing Photon Spot detectors, cryogenic cooling systems, and software used in this research project. The new system must be compatible with this existing hardware, seamlessly integrating with the existing cooling system, software and readout electronics without add-ons or modifications. The same hardware and software must be used by the team for optimally setting measurement parameters, operating conditions and acquiring high-quality data on a consistent platform to ensure reliable research results. Components in existing systems must be interchangeable with those in the system that is being purchased.
To the universities’ knowledge, there are no other suppliers that can supply a system meeting these specifications.
