Forestry and Parks - Request for Proposal - JOHN E POOLE BOARDWALK REFURBISHMENT Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park

Solicitation number AB-2024-07188

Publication date

Closing date and time 2024/08/08 10:00 EDT

    Description
Lois Hole Boardwalk (John. E. Poole Boardwalk) is located within Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park (LHCPP) near the day use area. The boardwalk was built with partnership of various groups such as the city of St. Albert, City of Edmonton, Alberta Parks, Strathcona County, Big Lake Environment Support Society (BLESS) and Ducks Unlimited. The boardwalk was intended to be an accessible interpretive experience for all visitors. Ducks Unlimited and the Poole family previously donated the funds to build the boardwalk prior to handing the structure over to Alberta Forestry and Parks (AFP) to operate and maintain. Currently, there are several indications of structural failure throughout the boardwalk and an assessment is required to determine the recommended repairs. This boardwalk is situated within a wetland and is utilized by many different groups for learning opportunities and is loved by locals. The purpose of this RFP is to invite Proposals from suitably qualified Proponents who demonstrate sufficient experience and qualification to complete the assessment, provide recommendations, and engage with stakeholders.
