Solicitation number AB-2024-07483

Publication date

Closing date and time 2024/08/22 12:00 EDT

    Description
The City of Calgary requires a consulting firm to develop a wildland fire risk reduction plan. The purpose of this project is to provide direction for the development of wildland fire risk reduction plans in areas of higher risk within The City of Calgary. Proper planning now will allow for more seamless integration of fuel management activities into various operational and land management practices in the future. Fuel management is an important part of wildfire prevention; if done correctly and maintained over time, its impact on potential fire behaviour can be significant. Potential for future work includes: - Grassland prescribed burns plan development; this plan must be developed with expert agencies and be planned in conjunction with the Calgary Fire Department; - Consultation with Indigenous Nations about cultural burning; and - Dead and downed woody debris removal plan implementation, including on-site surveying and layout plans for fuel removals. Unless otherwise stated in the Agreement Letter, the award under this RFP will be for all Phases of the Requirements, subject to approval by The City after each Phase.

    Contract duration

The estimated contract period will be 8 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/09/01.
