Description
Alberta Education is seeking the provision of interactive multimedia learning and teaching resources, utilizing a Learning Management System (“LMS”), to support the delivery of the high school CTS Mechanics (“MEC”) and first period apprenticeships in Automotive Service Technician (“ASA”) and Heavy Equipment Technician (“HEA”) courses, under the Trades, Manufacturing and Transportation cluster, in all school jurisdictions in Alberta.
Alberta Education is responsible for leading the development, maintenance, and support of K-12 Career Education, including the Career and Technology Studies (“CTS”) curriculum. CTS is a provincially authorized curriculum for Alberta secondary schools designed on a pathways model to offer flexible programming using one-credit courses. The course structure of CTS enables schools to design unique programs that meet the needs of students and take advantage of community resources.
CTS recognizes prior learning from formal schooling and personal initiatives, with students progressing through achievement levels rather than grades. CTS courses enable students to make reasoned and effective career decisions and target efforts to meet their goals.
