    Description
PROJECT BACKGROUND: Brown Creek Provincial Recreation Area (PRA) is a small rustic front country campground located approximately 45 km north of the Town of Nordegg. The site offers 8 rustic campsites with minimal amenities (i.e., picnic table, fit pit, and vault toilet). The campground is adjacent to Brown Creek which is currently eroding the existing layout of the campground. Site 3 as well as the existing access road between sites 3 and 5 are failing, the remaining sites/road alignment are located far enough from Brown Creek that there are no other concerns. There is no cell service in the area. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: To protect the campground infrastructure from bank erosion in Brown Creek and provide a safe visitor experience. SCOPE OF WORK: Relocate site 3 and its “approach” by shifting the site approximately 2 m north, realign the existing campground road between sites 3 and 7 to the northwest, and install eight new campsite markers and fire pits (to be supplied by AFP). A map of the existing site locations, and proposed realignments is included in Attachment 4.
