Description
Work shall include the construction of a new Type “SL” concrete girder bridge on steel substructure over Riviere Qui Barre, located 25 km NW of Morinville, Alberta (SE 16-56-27-W4M). The Contractor shall construct a new three-span (6 m – 10 m – 6 m) bridge as per the Drawings and applicable sections of the Standard Specifications for Bridge Construction. The bridge will be located square to the local road, centred at Station 5+550.000. The Scope of the Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: − Traffic accommodation − Accommodation of nautical traffic − Demolition, salvage of select material, and disposal of existing bridge structure − Supply, set-up and drive steel H-piling − Abutment and pier construction including small bridge plaques − Installation of heavy rock riprap erosion protection − Erection of Type “SL” concrete girders − Supply and installation of bridgerail and bridgerail posts All work beyond the on-site detour and bridge structure will be completed by others, including roadway work (grading), guardrail, delineators, and permanent erosion control. The Contractor shall be required to backfill behind the backwalls to maintain abutment stability and provide their own access as needed.
