    Description
    As outline in Section 00 11 16: Invitation to Bid, the intent of the bid is to obtain offers for work related to the removal and installation of clarifier internals equipment which have been manufactured as part of a major equipment supply contract. The major equipment supply contract (Contract 1) will be novated to the successful bidder as part of this contract (Contract 2). The major components of the scope of work to be completed by the General Contractor for Contract 2: Short-Term WTP Upgrades include the work related to installing clarifier internals equipment which includes the following: - Installation of piping modifications to accommodate the temporary clarifier equipment - Electrical and automation modifications required for temporary clarifier equipment - Installation of new piping to properly convey water while bypassing the existing clarifier - Electrical and mechanical isolation of the existing clarifier including any automation requirements - Coordination, preparation, and installation of a temporary clarifier to maintain water production during the construction period. Any equipment malfunction during the regular operation of this equipment will be responsibility of the contractor to troubleshoot, maintain, and remediate. - Emptying of existing clarifier including any sludge remnants. Contractor is responsible for dewatering sludge remnants and transfer to the sludge holding ponds. - Installation of newly fabricated clarifier internals in the existing water treatment plant (WTP) - Disassembly of the piping modifications and reassembly of piping once the clarifier internals have been replaced - Commissioning of the new clarifier including automation Bid Documents for the Stipulated Price contract may be obtained from the online bids&tenders procurement website and/or Alberta Purchasing Connection procurement website.
