Description
The WCB is seeking a Contractor to complete a Residential Home Modification Project in Glendon, Alberta as per the specifications and drawings contained in this IFB. The project will consist of the following tasks:
1. Asbestos abatement required due to asbestos in the gypsum board compound as per Hazmat report, prior to any demolition or modifications to the immediate affected areas.
2. Supply and installation of all material and systems described in specifications and drawings for the interior modifications to the existing 645 square foot bungalow with a partial basement as indicated on drawings for barrier free accessibility.
3. Reconstruct the basement wooden stairs and provide handrail as per the drawings.
4. Remove and replace existing exterior entrance door with a wider 36” unit.
5. Supply and install new Q-Ramp modular ramp and landing system to second exterior egress door, ramp system as per drawings to match existing ramp system. WWW.Q-ramp.com

6. Modify and reframe existing exterior wood landing for proper connection to house complete with metal joist hangers. Remove unused existing stair framing below.
7. Cut interior doorway entrances larger and provide new 36” door where indicated on drawings.
8. Remove and replace flooring with new heavy duty luxury vinyl plank flooring where indicated on drawings.
9. Remove and replace kitchen millwork cabinets as per drawings.
10. Modify electrical as required by enlarge doorways and where otherwise indicated on the drawings.
11. Provide new concrete sidewalk as shown on the drawings.
12. Prepare ground base to relocate existing garden shed and construct new wood and concrete ramp.
13. Remove debris pile and level existing grade.
14. The intent of this project is to meet the “CSA B651-18 Accessible Design For the Built Environment”.
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 4 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/11/04.
