Description
Bow Valley College is looking to purchase a Social Humanoid Robot (SHR) to assist in the advancement of health technology research, within the Bow Valley College Simulation Centre, a fully immersive simulation research and training environment. The SHR will be used in research to assess the application of robotics as a memory aid for people living with dementia. There are increasing numbers of applications for robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and medicine. The College’s innovative approach towards the use of a SHR with the help of AI as a memory aid can explore and open a new cross- disciplinary dialog between the fields of robotics, machine learning, AI, and healthcare and medicine to address complex societal health challenges.
