Description
Leica is the only manufacturer of a Gold Sputterer/Carbon Coater (Leica EM ACE600 Sputter/Carbon Thread) with the following capabilities that are essential to the department’s research in cryoEM grid fabrication: •Capable of reaching <2e-6 mbar vacuum for even and precise control of the sputtering process. Thisvacuum is necessary for making consistent grids with high control of gold thickness, purity, as well asother important properties. •Customizable gold deposition cycles. This customizability will allow the department to make grids withdifferent properties, which is necessary for developing new cryoEM technologies.
