    Description
Statement of need: The purpose of this RFI is to: 1) identify vendors with expertise in equity assessment, diversity analysis, inclusion and cultural competence review, and restorative justice/reconciliation assessments; 2) seek service quotations from suitable vendors. Project goal: To engage independent services for a systematic analysis of CPSA’s Accreditation Standards specifically for issues pertaining to equity, diversity, inclusion and cultural competence to identify improvement opportunities and recommendations. Background: CPSA accredits facilities offering Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory Medicine, Neurodiagnostic testing, Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy, Cardiac Stress Testing, Pulmonary Testing, Sleep Medicine, Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy, and Non-Hospital Surgical Facilities. Any community-based facility that offers a Prescribed Health Service, as defined under CPSA by-laws, must undergo an accreditation assessment when they open, renovate, move, or add new services, with re-evaluations every four years or after a complaint. The Accreditation Department conducts accreditation assessments based on standards developed through the Medical Facilities Accreditation Committee and its advisory committees of technical experts. Accreditation standards seek to promote quality improvement as well as staff and patient safety within accredited facilities. Currently, there are nine program streams within Accreditation, each with its own applicable standard sets. The standards follow a similar structure with certain core components repeated across standards. For the purposes of this project, the scope of external review will be focused on the General Standards under each program stream. The intent of the work referenced by this RFI is for the identified vendor to review current CPSA Accreditation standards specifically for issues pertaining to equity, diversity, inclusion and cultural competence, and to make recommendations about how the standards may be modified to increase the impact the CPSA can have in these areas. This will contribute to the CPSA’s strategic aims: anti-racism, anti-discrimination; and authentic indigenous connection.
