Description
Alberta Education’s Low Incidence Support Services unit leads a group of low incidence specialists from each of the low incidence areas who are available to support school authorities in meeting the needs of students from low incidence populations. Alberta Education requires qualified Resources who will support provincial school authorities and the service providers working for them on behalf of students who are blind or visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, deafblind or have complex communication needs. In addition, specialist support is required to assist school authorities to provide students with low incidence disabilities equal access to the mental health supports being offered.
The successful Resources shall perform the specific tasks outlined in the RFP, as assigned by department staff. Resources will be expected to travel within Alberta, which may include travel to rural and remote communities, to complete the Services and deliverables under the Contract. Due to the nature of this work and the stakeholders involved and their hours of operation, the successful Resources will need to be available and provide Services during business hours on Business Days. The majority of assigned work is anticipated to take place during the school year (September – June).
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 36 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/07/01.
