Description
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the M1075 with LTCC board for integration with SRE4001 and SRE4001 CZT LTCC detectors from Integrated Detector Electronics AS (IDEAS). The Department of Physics and Astronomy requires the detector modules to be integrated into the XRI-A instrument on the RADICALS satellite. The current XRI-A instrument design is the result of an extensive search for detector modules conducted in 2024. Following the selection of the IDEAS module, the department proceeded with the technical design and initial prototyping. At this stage, revisiting that decision is no longer practical, as the system has been designed specifically for these required modules. Any alternative solution that would require changes to established design parameters, re-engineering, or modification to the current technical architecture will not be considered acceptable due to the associated non-recurring engineering costs and project schedule delays. Additionally, the M1075 with LTCC is a module designed in cooperation with IDEAS and it’s not commercially available on the open market. As such, IDEAS is the only vendor capable of providing this module. It is the department’s understanding that only IDEAS products can meet their technical and operational requirements.
