    Description
Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (the “Department”) has received Alberta Government approval to proceed with procurement of the design and build (the “Delivery Method”) of the North Central Region Bridge Replacement Project (the “Project”), being the replacement of five bridges in the vicinity of Barrhead, Alberta, Canada. In summary, the Project consists of the removal and replacement of the bridges noted below. The bridge sites are separate, but all are within an approximately 50 km radius of Barrhead: BF 00228, carrying Highway 37 over the Sturgeon River, approximately 10 m northeast of Range Road 20 (near Onoway, Alberta); BF 00690, carrying Highway 37 over the Sturgeon River, approximately 75 m southeast of Township Road 551 (near Calahoo, Alberta); BF 07622, carrying Highway 765 over the Sturgeon River, approximately 250 m south of Township Road 544 (near Darwell, Alberta); BF 71593, carrying Highway 18 (53 Avenue) over an unnamed tributary of the Paddle River, approximately 25 m from 57 Street (in Barrhead, Alberta); and BF 79128, carrying Highway 18 over Romeo Creek, approximately 500 m south of Township Road 590 (near Mayerthorpe, Alberta). The Project will be procured using the Delivery Method. The RFQ phase of the procurement will be followed by a Request for Proposals (“RFP”), which will culminate in an agreement (the “Agreement”). The procurement process and the Agreement will be based in large measure upon the successful processes and agreements realized for the Bridge Size Culvert Replacements in the Peace Region design-build.

    Contract duration

The estimated contract period will be 18 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2027/03/25.
