Description
Pavement markings are a very important part of the communication system for road users. They are used on paved roadways for vehicle positioning and to provide guidance and information to drivers and pedestrians. Pavement markings help motorists correctly position their vehicle, provide guidance through the many different situations within the roadway, indicate where passing is allowed, and warn motorists of upcoming conditions. Pavement markings communicate their messages through a uniform system of colors, patterns, widths, and symbols. The annual paint program includes re-painting existing road markings within the City, as well as painting new road markings as required.
