A maintenance service agreement is required to complete annual preventative maintenance projects and improvements to facilities and structures, emergency repairs, and replacement of major department owned pumping infrastructure and water retention equipment. It is important to have a contractor in place to perform these services as they are often time sensitive projects that perform specific operations to infrastructure that is relied upon by GoA operators and technical supervisors within Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) and impacts landowners and stakeholders.
Alberta Agriculture & Irrigation (AGI), Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) Central Region, operates and maintains provincially owned water infrastructure; projects that rely on various sized pumps, electric motors, valves, and other mechanical and electrical equipment to achieve desired results to stakeholders and meet licensed requirements.
This specialized mechanical water conveyance and retention equipment is located on lake stabilization projects and wet wells on major dams. When one of these mechanical components fails, a project may become completely inoperable. The projects include, but may not be limited to:
• St. Paul Pumphouse (South of St. Paul, AB)
• Gull Lake Pumphouse (West of Bentley, AB)
• Buffalo Lake Pumphouse (South of Alix, AB)
• Dickson Dam (West of Innisfail, AB)
• Various water regulating structures located in Central Alberta
Alberta Agriculture & Irrigation (AGI), Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) Central Region is seeking a qualified contractor to perform water pumping component and water regulating equipment inspections, removals, repairs, and recoating to various types of equipment that may include, but is not limited to:
• Vertical turbine pumps (up to 40 feet in length)
• Electric motors (up to 1750 HP)
• All types of valves, piping, and mounting supports
• Submersible pumps (2-12 inch)
• Cathodic protection surveys and repairs
• Electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Water regulating gates and operators
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 32 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2023/07/17.
