    Description
    The intent of this RFPQ is to prequalify Proponents for the design, manufacture, factory routine and pre-delivery testing as per EPCOR standards, supply, offloading to foundation at site, supervision of installation and commissioning support services of power transformers (listed below). All transformers will be delivered to and commissioned in Edmonton, Alberta. Only Proponents who are prequalified in this RFPQ will be invited to participate in the second-stage competitive process for the provision of the Work. A Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be issued to prequalified Proponents in late April, 2023. EPCOR reserves the right to award the Work to more than one Proponent. The Successful Proponent(s) will provide EPCOR with power transformers as per the table below. EPCOR also reserves the right to remove or add additional power transformers from/to the list below and the Successful Proponent(s)’s Contract(s). List of Transformers: Power Transformers Specification range (the ratings below are preliminary values at this time and true values will be provided at the Stage 2 RFP) Quantity Currently scheduled for Three-phase power transformer, 72/14.4 kV Dyn1 30/40/50 MVA 3 2024, 2025, 2026 Three-phase power transformer, 72/14.4 kV and 56/74.7MVA @ 65C rise 2 2025 - 2027 Three-phase power transformer, 72/14.4 kV Dyn1 30/40MVA 2 2025 -2026 The Work shall be procured though a two stage process as outlined in Section 4.4 and summarized below: • Stage 1 Prequalification (this RFPQ): This RFPQ is intended to prequalify Proponents who will be invited to participate in Stage 2. • Stage 2 Request for Proposal (future RFP): Prequalified Proponents from Stage 1 will be invited to provide proposal pricing, technical submissions and delivery in relation to the Work and note exceptions to the EPCOR Standard Form Contract. EPCOR intends on prequalifying Proponents who will be invited to participate in the Stage 2 RFP. EPCOR, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to not pre-qualify any Proponent who scores less than 50% of the given weighting in any one evaluation category.

    Contract duration

    The estimated contract period will be 30 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/06/21.
