Description
RALP is a new 5-year grant program being offered under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) that is focused on increasing resiliency of agricultural landscapes by accelerating the adoption of Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) that maximize the provision of Ecological Goods & Services (EG&S). RALP has some unique elements, such as a novel payment structure and project term. RALP is also one of several active grant programs aimed at sustainable agriculture, and potential applicants may require assistance in navigating this complex funding environment of related programs.
RALP was launched on April 3, 2023, and is currently accepting applications. There is a website dedicated to the RALP program that includes program documents, application forms and additional related resources that is administered and updated by AGI. The website can be viewed at https://www.alberta.ca/resilient-agricultural-landscape-program.aspx
AGI requires assistance with the province-wide services identified in Appendix B below. AGI is targeting funding 300 RALP applicants per year. In addition, AGI anticipates an average of three RALP projects per successful applicant.
The key stakeholders involved in this project include:
(1) AGI, including program area and RALP administration/delivery staff. The selected Contractor would work closely with the Contract Manager to ensure project objectives are on track to meet targets outlined in the contract.
(2) Eligible RALP applicants as described in the RALP Terms and Conditions available on the RALP website (i.e., Alberta producers, Grazing Reserve Associations, Community Pastures, and Indigenous applicants).
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 30 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2023/10/01.
