The Working Well program provides targeted education to private water well owners, to improve the safety and security of their water wells and drinking water and to enhance their stewardship of provincial groundwater resources. The program has 3 key objectives:
Awareness – to help well owners recognize their responsibility to manage their wells and to understand the potential impact their land-use activities can have on groundwater.
Knowledge – to help well owners gain basic understanding of groundwater science, how water wells work, and how/why their wells should be properly operated, maintained, and managed.
Practise change – to help well owners acquire the knowledge and skills they need to feel motivated to adopt recommended best management practises.
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 11 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/04/22.
