Description
Alberta has many areas of strength to attract investment including a competitive tax system, low cost of living, access to a highly educated and trained workforce, and research and development infrastructure. While Alberta has competitive strengths, other North American jurisdictions offer a combination of targeted incentives and favourable investment conditions, particularly for manufacturing investment.
The Minister of Jobs, Economy and Trade’s mandate letter includes the following item: As lead, working with the Ministers of Treasury Board and Finance as well as Forestry and Parks, develop programs similar to the Agri-Processing Investment Tax Credit to incentivize investment in forestry and other manufacturing sectors.
The Services to be performed for this Project will be in furtherance of this mandate item.
