    Description
Alberta Parks is experiencing higher than typical visitation at many sites across Kananaskis. This is resulting in significant parking congestion issues and over crowding on weekends and fair-weather days at the most popular Day-Use sites throughout the region. Adequate controls for managing vehicle congestion and unlawful parking are required to ensure visitation does not exceed the capacity of the site. Controlling vehicle entry during times of high use is a critical component to ensure public and staff safety and that access for emergency vehicles can be maintained. Alberta Parks will implement on-site parking control through contracted services at a number of designated sites on weekends between August 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024. This work will be supported by other complementary Alberta Parks initiatives to engage the public through field officers, visitor centres, and social media to raise awareness and promote cooperation. This Request for Proposal is for the delivery of parking control services at multiple sites. The primary objectives of this work are: a) The safety of the public and operational staff. b) Maintain access and egress through each of the sites for emergency response and maintenance vehicles.

    Contract duration

The estimated contract period will be 8 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2023/08/01.
