Estimation Methods for Forest Sector Emissions

Description
The Climate Action Secretariat (CAS) and Office of the Chief Forester (FOR) are seeking to improve emission quantification methods, reporting/classification of the Land Use, Land Use Change, and Forestry sector (LULUCF) in the Provincial Inventory of Greenhouse Gasses emissions (PI), particularly for those activities identified as a focus for policy action, or sources of anthropogenic emissions.
Because of forests’ contribution to carbon cycles in B.C. and their large potential both as a carbon source and as a carbon sink, B.C. is working toward better transparency on anthropogenic and non-anthropogenic emissions from LULUCF activities, and for better integration of forest sector activities into core GHG emissions in B.C. (as represented by total gross emissions in the PI) and into accounting for progress toward targets.
Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
