    REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

    SCOPE OF SERVICES


    The City of Surrey, invites Proponents to provide comprehensive architectural, interior design, and engineering design services including construction administration, hand over and closeout for the development of a new modular construction of O’Siem at Hawthorne Park Childcare facility located at 14290 and 14306/08 108 Avenue, Surrey, BC.

    The Services should include but not be limited to all aspects of:

    (a) Architectural and interior design (refer to Attachment 1 - Sequence & Scope of Services Chart);
    (b) Structural, Mechanical and Electrical engineer consulting;
    (c) Civil engineering services including site servicing and off-site services agreement as well as Erosion Sediment Control (all modifying earlier design);
    (d) Landscape design including indigenous program play area; (Note: applicability of previous landscape design is to be confirmed at later date);
    (e) Code consulting services (if not by architect);
    (f) Quantity Surveyor costing;
    (g) value engineering if required to suit budget; and
    (h) Modular design or modular builder pre-construction services for design integration.
    Services directly engaged by City:
    (a) Arborist’s tree survey (updates to earlier reporting as needed to suit redesign);
    (b) Site topographic survey;
    (c) Geotechnical reporting (for building site in addition to earlier report for parking lot site);
    (d) Environmental Hazmat consultant’s pre-demolition assessment reporting
    (e) Modular Builder pre-construction services for design integration may also be considered.

    ADDENDA 

    If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFP, the City Representative will issue a written addendum by posting it on the BC Bid Website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca and the City Website at www.surrey.ca (collectively, the “Websites”), and upon posting, any addenda will form part of this RFP. It is the responsibility of Proponents to check the Websites for addenda. The only way this RFP may be added to, or amended in any way, is by a formal written addendum. No other communication, whether written or oral, from any person will affect or modify the terms of this RFP or may be relied upon by any Proponent. By delivery of a Proposal the Proponent is deemed to have received, accepted and understood the entire RFP, including any and all addenda.
