    REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS

    DESCRIPTION OF SCOPE OF WORK


    The Work covered under this project consists of the furnishing of all superintendence, overhead, labour, materials, tools, equipment, insurance, fuel, transportation and all things necessary for and incidental to the satisfactory performance and completion of construction and renovation of Welding Services, Serpentine Dyke Sheet Pile Wall Extension, located at adjacent to 5168 164 St Surrey, British Columbia (the “Place of Work”) in strict accordance with the Specifications and accompanying Drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

    The general components of the Work include:
  • Removal of existing steel capping plates (salvage and optional reinstatement).
  • Installation of new PZC 13 sheet pile extensions (City supplied) onto the existing sheet pile wall.
  • Full-strength continuous welding (field welding of sheet-pile walls in accordance with CSA W47.1 and W59) of extensions to the existing sheet piles in accordance with the drawings and CSA requirements.
  • Sealing of interlocks and completion of all welding, tolerances, and alignment requirements per the IFT drawings.
  • All civil works, vegetation clearing, and site preparation will be completed by the City in advance of construction.
  • The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the necessary traffic management when required. The Work is to be completed in a manner that maintains safe and continuous access for local traffic and minimizes disruptions to adjacent roadways and properties. The Contractor must submit a Traffic Management Plan to the City for review prior to the Work.
  • A local sheet pile supplier will cut and supply the sheet pile and can coordinate direct delivery of the sheet pile extension sections to your team for installation.
  • Existing sheet pile geometry and elevations are to be field verified by the Contractor prior to fabrication and installation in accordance with the IFT general notes.
  • Potential preparation of existing sheet pile surface after the removal of the cap plate. Contractor should note if their proposed work includes cutting the individual sheet piles to a uniform elevation, expected beveling or grinding as required, and cleaning surfaces to achieve sound welds.
  • The Contractor shall obtain and comply with the City’s Hot Work Permit requirements prior to undertaking welding or any spark-producing activity, including maintaining appropriate fire watch and fire suppression equipment on site.ADDENDA

    If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFQ, the City Representativewill issue a written addendum by posting it on the BC Bid website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.caand the City website at www.surrey.ca (collectively, the “Websites”), and upon posting, anyaddenda will form a part of this RFQ. It is the responsibility of Contractors to check theWebsites for addenda. The only way this RFQ may be added to, or amended in any way, isby a formal written addendum. No other communication, whether written or oral, from anyperson will affect or modify the terms of this RFQ or may be relied upon by any Contractor.By delivery of a Quotation the Contractor is deemed to have received, accepted andunderstood the entire RFQ, including any and all addenda.
