SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday, November 17, 2023 at 4:30 Pacific Time.
PROJECT SUMMARY: The purpose of this project is to understand economic and population trends, opportunities, and challenges to inform and support an update of the City of Powell River’s Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw.
The primary tasks in this project are: 1) developing a demographic analysis including a population growth estimate, and 2) analyzing the land supply for industrial, commercial, and institutional lands. This information will inform the land uses and densities specified in OCP land use designations. Anticipated work will include: demographic and economic analyses, demographic and employment forecasts/scenarios, analysis of land supply, analysis of market demand, and recommendations for appropriate strategies, land use regulations, and public policy approaches.

TIMELINE: The contract must be completed by June 30, 2024
