Description
Island Health is seeking proposals from community-based providers across the Island Health catchment region to provide counselling services to transition-aged youth and adults (ages seventeen and older) who reside in the Island Health region and who require counselling and support services to treat moderate-severity mental health issue (such individuals are referred to as “Clients”). Successful Proponents will be expected to provide qualified counsellor(s) within accessible, safe and confidential settings, who will provide one-to-one and/or group counselling services that are tailored to meet the needs of the individual Clients. Services will also include providing active referral pathways to treatment options within the Island Health MHSU service continuum. Island Health is seeking proposals for either, or a combination of:
- Dedicated net new counselling capacity within an agency, where Island Health will have exclusive access to that counselling resource primarily for Island Health referrals (with some limited capacity reserved for counselling for non-Island Health referred Clients),
- Episodic access to currently available counselling capacity within an agency, where Island Health can refer Clients to receive short to moderate term counselling supports as capacity allows.
