    Description
Island Health provides Mental Health and Substance Use (“MHSU”) services for the population across the Island for both adults, children and youth.  The services are focused on supporting individuals with moderate to serious substance use issues through acute and community-based services.

Island Health is seeking proposals from residential treatment (hereafter referred to as “facility-based treatment” in the RFP) service providers and/or agencies in the Island Health catchment region to deliver evidence-based inpatient treatment services to adults aged nineteen (19) and older (referred to as “Clients” in the RFP) with primary substance use disorders who may also have concurrent mental health disorders. Services will be provided to individuals with moderate to severe substance use challenges who require longer-term facility-based treatment services and supports due to the nature of their substance use and/or who have not been successful through other treatment approaches. The treatment centre(s) will support a full-range of substance use treatment needs, and will be a safe place for wrap-around, culturally appropriate, client-centred, trauma-informed and concurrent social, mental and physical health services. Clients will be residents of the Island Health region who require facility-based substance use treatment, provided in an intensive, substance use free setting.
