Description
Island Health provides Mental Health and Substance Use (“MHSU”) services for the population across the Island for both adults, children and youth. The services are focused on supporting individuals with moderate to serious mental illness and/or substance use issues through acute and community care.
Island Health is seeking proposals from community-based providers across the Island Health catchment region to provide addictions/substance use-focused counselling (referred to as ‘substance use’ counselling in the remainder of this RFP) services to adults (aged 19 and older) who reside in the Island Health region and who require substance use counselling and supports to manage and treat moderate-severity substance use issues (such individuals are referred to as “Clients”). Successful Proponents will be expected to provide qualified counsellor(s) within accessible, safe and confidential settings, who will provide one-to-one and/or group counselling services that are tailored to meet the needs of the individual Clients. Services will also include providing active referral pathways to treatment options within the Island Health MHSU service continuum.
