    Description

    Scope of Work

    The Work required to be performed under this Processing and Marketing Contract consists of receiving, handling, storing, processing and marketing of Recyclable Materials consisting of scrap metals and white goods, including the removal of refrigerants from white goods being received, from the Capital Regional District's recycling depot located at the Port Renfrew transfer station. The Capital Regional District, at its sole discretion and without invalidating the contract, may add scrap metals and white goods from other sources or programs. The Capital Regional District shall be responsible for delivering the Recyclable Materials to the Contractor's Processing Facility. The Contractor shall perform such services as are required to process and market the Recyclable Materials and shall not be entitled to receive any remuneration from the Capital Regional District other than that provided for in this Contract. All work included in this Contract shall be performed to the satisfaction of the Engineer. The works covered by the Contract include, but are not restricted to:
    1. Receiving, handling and processing all Recyclable Materials as defined by this Contract from the Capital Regional District;
    2. Monitoring, shipping and selling all Recyclable Materials received and collected; and
    3. Accurately reporting all program data and finances.
    Sealed Tenders, plainly marked on the envelope "Tender for Processing and Marketing of Scrap Metals and White Goods, Contract ERM2023-001" will be received by the General Manager, Parks & Environmental Services of the Capital Regional District at their offices at 625 Fisgard Street, Victoria, British Columbia up to 10:00 am local time on March 27, 2023, at which time they will be opened in public. The term of the Contract is for five (5) years (60 months), commencing May 1, 2023 and terminating April 30, 2028. The Work under this Contract includes all receiving, processing and marketing of Recyclable Materials, consisting of scrap metals and white goods, from the Capital Regional District’s recycling depots at the Hartland landfill and Port Renfrew transfer stations. Tenderers are required to bid on each of the following:
    • Commingled Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals
    • White Goods
    • Removal of Refrigerants
     Contract Documents and Tender Form may be seen at the Capital Regional District, 625 Fisgard Street, Victoria, BC on or after March 6, 2023. Copies may be obtained from the Capital Regional District, Parks & Environmental Services Department.
