Facilities Management (“FM”) provides facilities management services for Fraser Health Authority (FHA), Providence Health Care Society, Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCH).
FM is issuing this Notice of Intent for Direct Award (NOI) on behalf of the Vancouver Coastal Heath Authority (the “Health Organization”) to retain the boiler and DDC upgrade services for qathet General Hospital (“qGH”) (formerly Powell River General Hospital). 
qGH is a 33-bed facility providing services that include surgery, endoscopy, ICU, obstetrics, in-patient psychiatry, oncology, emergency and diagnostic services. The proposed work is to replace the three remaining Walker Panels at qGH.

The contractor and the estimated value of the work will be:

Ainsworth Inc. (formerly ESC Automation Inc.) at 3057 Barons Road, Nanaimo BC V9T 3Y6

$114,445.00 plus GST.

The Health Organization has chosen to direct award the contract to Ainsworth Inc. for the following reasons:  
 

• qGH has switched completely from a Walker Control System over the past few years as Walker parks are no longer available.

• Delta Controls have been installed across the entire site as the replacement and upgrade project progressed over the past few year through prior competitive procurement processes. These three panels are in the last section at the qGH site that needs to be completed.

• To achieve consistency in the equipment standard and efficiency in operations and maintenance, Delta Controls are to be installed to the site to complete a Delta Control System.

• Ainsworth Inc. (formerly ESC Automation Inc.) is the sole distributor for Delta Controls DDC in British Columbia, Canada.
