Established in 1965, Simon Fraser University is located on British Columbia's west coast, and boasts three distinctive campuses, Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey.
Overview
The RFSQ is a request to submit qualifications to establish a list of qualified proponents for expertise in Hazardous Material Consulting Services. The University is looking for proponents to provide Hazmat Material Consulting Services on as & when required basis.
Number of Qualified Proponents
SFU is seeking to establish a list of at least two Qualified Proponents who can provide Hazardous Material Consulting Services.
Description of Deliverables
SFU is looking for Proponents to provide Hazardous Materials Consulting Services on as & when required basis, including hazardous building materials investigations, abatement contractor management, abatement project oversight, site inspections, air monitoring and valued-added services for the SFU Burnaby, Vancouver and Surrey Campuses.
The Proponent will provide SFU with detailed reporting, best practice recommendations, and sustainability initiatives. Throughout the term of the contract, the successful proponent will provide recommendations to SFU to monitor and manage hazardous building materials. In addition, the Proponent will need to monitor and inform SFU of legislative changes that may impact hazardous buildings materials management services at SFU.
SFU is seeking hazardous materials consultants to provide services for:
- Pre-renovation/demolition hazardous building materials assessments;
- Bulk sample collection;
- Oversight, air monitoring, and pre/post inspections of hazardous building materials abatement projects;
- Assessments of hazardous building materials during emergency situations e.g. assessment of building materials during a flood/water damage event, responding to flood events to determine scope/contamination, or site inspection and air sampling due to a potential disturbance of hazardous building materials;
- Project specific risk assessments as requested by SFU; and
- Advising SFU of any observed hazardous building materials that require repair, disturbance, removal or present an unsafe condition.
