Description
In December 20223, the Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation’s (EMLI) mandate letter contained direction to “expedite a provincial critical minerals strategy that positions British Columbia (BC) to take advantage of the emerging clean global economy.”
To fulfil this commitment, the Ministry is currently seeking qualified contractor(s) to conduct an assessment of BC's critical mineral development and value chain potential, with delivery in Q3 2023/24. The purpose of this socio-economic and value-chain potential assessment is to establish foundational baseline data on the opportunity for growth in critical minerals in BC, to inform the development of a comprehensive BC Critical Minerals Strategy.
Due to the broad range of expertise required to deliver on this opportunity, EMLI welcomes proposals submitted by partners or consortiums. Given the expedited timeline, it is expected that contractor(s) will be able to quickly mobilize and dedicate a team of experts for the work.
This Contract may be extended based on contractor performance and further research analysis needs identified during the contract period.
Further details as to the scope of work and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
