Notice is hereby given that the Province of British Columbia, as represented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (through the program administered by VGN Resources Group, Inc.) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to the BC Potato & Vegetable Growers Association (the “Supplier”).
The high-level details of the contemplated contract are generally described below.
The contracted services include delivery of a project evaluating nutrient and water management in potato production. Fertility trials assessing various combinations of irrigation and fertilizer treatments will be assessed. The purpose of this project is to evaluate and promote best management practices for potato production applicable to agronomic conditions in British Columbia.

The contracted services include delivery of a project evaluating nutrient and water management in potato production. Fertility trials assessing various combinations of irrigation and fertilizer treatments will be assessed. The purpose of this project is to evaluate and promote best management practices for potato production applicable to agronomic conditions in British Columbia.
The contracted services will include:
- Reviewing best management practices for mitigating heat and drought;
- Delivery of a minimum of one grower/industry field day.
- Planning, implementation and assessment of combined nitrogen fertility treatments and irrigation timings on identified potato varieties of interest to industry;
- Presentation of findings at a minimum of one industry meeting such as a growers’ meeting, short course or field day.
- Distribution of project findings including use of new technologies, summary reports and outreach notices to industry.
- Liaison and coordination with project stakeholders and key subcontractors to develop and clarify workplans including communications and reporting related to data collection, cooperator engagement, industry outreach and implementation of fertility and water management assessments.
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 9 month(s).
