Description
The City of Salmon Arm Water Utility provides high quality potable water and fire protection to a population of approximately 18,800 residents. The City Water Utility has two intake locations, one on Shuswap Lake and the second at the Metford Dam (East Canoe Creek). The Shuswap Lake Water Treatment Plant has a design capacity of 40 MLD and the East Canoe Creek has a maximum flow of 6.0 MLD. The water system includes approximately 205 km of water main varying in diameter from 100 mm to 600 mm, eight (8) pressure zones, fourteen (14) reservoirs, one dam and seven (7) pump stations.
The City invites proposal submissions from qualified consultants to undertake the update and development of a long term (20 year) improvement plan to meet the City’s anticipated growth and redevelopment and to meet or exceed fire protection requirements outlined in the Subdivision and Development Services Bylaw.
